ISL : Jamshedpur FC vs Kerala Blasters FC: News,Live Stream"
Jamshedpur FC take on Kerala Blasters at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on Sunday in desperate need of a win. The Men of Steel are winless in their last four games while their opposition have been flying high.
Kerala have won three on the trot and are well rested after a long break in between Hero Indian Super League (HISL) games. Both teams may have contrasting form heading into this contest, but will be equally keen to pick up all three points. Keeping this in mind, here are three individual battles across the pitch that could very well decide the outcome of the game.
Pratik Chaudhari vs Dimitrios Diamantakos
Pratik Chaudhari has become a key player for the Jamshedpur FC squad this season following an injury to Eli Sabia, and is once again expected to start against Kerala on Sunday.
Pratik’s form has been consistent despite a struggle for the team to pick up points, but he could face a real challenge against the Blasters this weekend. In front of Pratik is likely to be the in-form Dimitrios Diamantakos.
Diamantakos has already scored thrice and got an assist to his name this season, and scored the winner in Kerala’s last game against Hyderabad FC, making him the most potent threat in attack for the South Indian side. The Greek is expected to keep the Jamshedpur defenders busy once again as the two sides clash on Sunday.
Boris Singh vs Hormipam Ruivah
Boris Singh Thangjam has arguably been Jamshedpur FC’s shining light this season in a tough start to the campaign, with his pace and dribbling ability proving a handful for opponents across the HISL.
Boris’ strengths have been highlighted by head coach Aidy Boothroyd, who considers the Manipuri star a key player for the rest of the season. In this game too, Boris will need to be at his best to ensure JFC leave the Furnace with something of note to show for.
Standing in his way, however, would be the familiar face Hormipam Ruivah. Boris and Ruivah have both spent time in the renowned Indian Arrows setup, and will face each other in this huge clash in Jamshedpur on Sunday.
Hormipam has emerged as a very important player for the Blasters this season, and will have his hands full dealing with the pace and skill of Boris.
Jay-Emmanuel Thomas vs Marko Leskovic
Jay-Emmanuel Thomas was expected to be the star man for Jamshedpur FC this season, but a slowish start to the season has left fans wanting more from the former Arsenal academy graduate. The man known as JET showed glimpses of his class against East Bengal in the last game, and is now expected to kick on after grabbing a goal from the penalty spot and racking up chances in the previous match.
This time around, all eyes will be on JET as he gets ready to take on the challenge of Marko Leskovic from Kerala Blasters. The defender has been solid at the back for the Tuskers, and already has the most number of interceptions (16) in the league this season.
This tasty clash will be one to watch out for as the two sides get ready to lock horns at the Furnace on Sunday.
